Upon request of Kurunegala Municipal Council (KMC), Climate Change secretariat of Ministry of Environment is obtaining the technical assistance from Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) to develop a road-map to convert Kurunegala city into a climate-smart city.
Eco Network of South Korea is the International Consultancy organization to provide technical assistance while NCPC, Sri Lanka is the local technical support organization work with Eco Network in this project. NCPC Sri Lanka has been a member of CTCN for last 5 years.
Designing greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects in energy, transport, and waste sectors and conducting a feasibility study for climate mitigation technologies for GHG reduction are key activities under the project.
The project started with 1st stakeholder consultation workshop held on Friday, 28th August at KMC with participation of senior offers of respective stakeholder organizations.
